In the early hours of 21st December, 1914, with the India Corps under attack at Festubert, the 8th Hussars of the Ambala Cavalry brigade moved to Gorre where they dismounted and proceeded on foot towards Festubert. As they did so they came under fire and Jesse Cumper was killed. |
